Maggie May and the birth of a rock star.

Writer's picture: Jesse SmithJesse Smith

1971 was the year Rod Stewart took over the world of music.

As well as releasing TWO records with his band The Faces, Stewart also released his third solo album - "Every Picture Tells a Story". His single 'Maggie May', is arguably Rod Stewart's greatest ever song and was simultaneously number one in the US, UK, Canada & Australia. Making it the UK and US's 2nd biggest single of 1971.

It's just another incredible song from 1971 that we're so happy to celebrate in our show.
